Joe Flacco-Signed Sports Illustrated Copy Stolen, Internet Asks Why
A copy of Sports Illustrated magazine signed by Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was stolen and fans say, "Who cares?"
LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, MD — Unlike the international crime drama that unfolded when Super Bowl champion Tom Brady's jersey was stolen, the theft of a magazine signed by the Baltimore Ravens' quarterback from a suburban Baltimore pizza joint elicited a yawn and snarky comments from the public. Anne Arundel County Police say a man on April 8 helped himself to a Joe Flacco autographed copy of Sports Illustrated magazine from Seasons Pizza, 810 Nursery Road.
Security camera images of the suspected thief, and a woman with him in the restaurant, were posted Tuesday on the police department's Facebook page in hopes that the public can help find the memorabilia. The magazine on display featured Flacco, the MVP of the 2012 season Super Bowl championship team. But that didn't impress commenters on Facebook, perhaps because the Ravens didn't make it into post-season play the last two years.

Comments on the police post didn't offer much help in solving the crime."This has to be a sentimental thing because a Flacco autographed SI is just not worth that much money," wrote Craig Wilson.
And Bobby Ambrose chimed in with, "Why would u steal a Flacco signed anything?"

Then another fan said, "Should have just give it to them."
Ouch. For die-hard Ravens fans, the NFL team begins pre-season play Aug. 10 at home against the Washington Redskins.
