Joseph T. Pilkerton, 85, passed away July 2, 2015. He was born in St. Mary’s County, the son of Lessie Harris and Joseph T. Pilkerton Sr., on April 10, 1930.
He was predeceased by his parents and a daughter, Lori Lee Pilkerton.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Lou Grine Pilkerton; two sons, Joseph (Tammy) T. Pilkerton III, and Frank (Joanne) G. Pilkerton; 3 granddaughters Crystal, Amanda, and Jennifer; 5 great grandchildren; three sisters Mary, Elizabeth, and Gloria Jean; two brothers Richard and William; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel for 34 years, and served in the Maryland National Guard for 40 years, where he acquired many ribbons and commendations. He was also a member of the American Legion. Joe enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and hunting. After retirement, he spent almost every day on the water.

Friends and family may call at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Duke of Gloucester St. in Annapolis, on Tuesday, July 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held Wednesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. in the Taylor Chapel.
Interment will be at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
Following the interment, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Eastport Democratic Club, 525 State St. in Annapolis from 1 to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
