Kayaker Missing In Severn River, Second Man Hospitalized
One man fell into the Severn River without a life jacket Wednesday and is missing, while a second man is in the hospital, authorities said.

ARNOLD, MD — A man who fell out of a kayak Wednesday afternoon was not wearing a life jacket, say authorities, who are still searching the Severn River near Arnold for him. A second man in the kayak made it ashore and is in stable condition at Anne Arundel County Medical Center, officials said.
Crews from Maryland Natural Resources Police, the Annapolis Fire Department and the Anne Arundel County Fire Department are looking for the missing man. The U.S. Coast Guard has also been called to help in the search.
The county has been under a wind advisory Wednesday with gusts of 50 mph at times, according to the National Weather Service. Strong winds will last until early Wednesday evening; the wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph winds buffeted the region.

Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thomson said the two men are construction workers who went out to secure a dinghy that broke loose in the wind when the mishap occurred, the Capital-Gazette reports.
