ANNAPOLIS, MD — A male was stabbed multiple times and hospitalized Friday in Annapolis, city police said.

Officers said the stabbing happened during an argument about money that the victim owed the suspect.

Authorities heard about the stabbing around 2:11 a.m. Police said they responded to Marda Lane and Janwall Street and found the victim, who knew the suspect personally.

The victim and the suspect were in a vehicle during the dispute, officers said.

The Annapolis Fire Department arrived and took the victim to an unidentified hospital, a press release said.

Authorities said the suspect fled before they arrived. The Annapolis Police Department has not yet found the suspect. Detectives did not mention if they know the suspect's name.
