Mall Breakin Leads to Police Chase from Glen Burnie to DC
Men from Washington, DC, and Hyattsville reportedly broke into Marley Station Mall's Sprint store early Monday, police say.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A trio of robbers broke into an Anne Arundel County mall's cell phone store, snatched multiple phones and led police on a 30-mile chase along Baltimore-Washington Parkway into Washington, DC, according to police.
The break-in was reported about 1:40 a.m. by security officers who told Anne Arundel County Police the men were trying to break into the Sprint Store inside the Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie. As officers arrived, the three suspects ran out of the loading bay doors and got into a vehicle, which police followed from the mall parking lot and onto Ritchie Highway toward Route 100.
When the suspects refused to stop for police, a chase began that continued south on MD 295/BW Parkway. United States Park Police and United States Capitol Police were called to assist as the pursuit continued toward Washington, D.C.

Shortly after entering the District's limits, the suspect vehicle crashed and all three occupants ran from the car, but were taken into custody. One suspect — Sammie David Smith, 22, of Hyattsville — was taken to a hospital in Prince George's County for injuries he suffered. The other two suspects were taken to the Anacostia Police Station for charges.
Police say a loaded Glock handgun was found on the ground near the suspect vehicle, along with multiple stolen cell phones.

All three suspects will be charged with burglary, theft and traffic charges.

- Qaaree Raagim Palmer, 22, of Washington, DC
- Brittani Ronnicka Carney, 23, of Washington, DC
