Man Claims To Have Coronavirus, Coughs On Officer: Police

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Anne Arundel County police officers responded to a report of trespassing at the Red Roof Inn at 2520 Riva Rd. May 6 at approximately 10 p.m. Hotel staff identified the suspect in a vehicle. When officers stopped the vehicle, they discovered the suspect had an extraditable Florida warrant.

According to a police report, the suspect became verbally combative and stated he had the coronavirus, then coughed in the officer's face. The suspect, Jerry Vincent Pippin, 29, of Glen Burnie, was booked on the outstanding warrant and charged with assault, CDS paraphernalia, false identity and failure to comply with the stay at home order.
