Assault, Attempted Robbery Outside Annapolis Home Depot Prompts Police Search: Officers

A man was assaulted during an attempted robbery outside an Annapolis Home Depot, police said. Officers are still looking for the suspect.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police announced that a man was assaulted last Thursday during an attempted robbery outside an Annapolis Home Depot. Officers are still looking for the suspect.

Authorities said the encounter happened around 3:45 p.m. while the victim was leaving the construction retailer located at 55 Forest Plaza. Police accused the suspect of approaching the victim from behind, cutting him and demanding cash.

The victim fought off the suspect without losing any property. First responders took care of the victim on the scene, but he declined further medical attention.

The suspect fled, officers said. Authorities searched the area, but they could not find the accused man.

Detectives described the suspect as a 6-foot, 2-inch black man between 20 and 30 years old. He was wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt along with a black and yellow knit hat.
