Man at Playground Carried Loaded Gun, PCP: Police

The Washington, D.C., man is in jail on 17 charges for weapons and drugs, say Annapolis Police.

A man hanging out near an Annapolis playground Wednesday afternoon reportedly gave police a fake name and then tried to run before being arrested on multiple charges.

Annapolis Police Officers were in the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue when they saw a man later identified as Antonio Crump, 18, of Washington, D.C. Crump was standing on the sidewalk near the playground holding an open bottle of beer.

Officers talked with Crump and he gave them with a false name. Crump tried to run away from police but officers were able to handcuff him.

Officers found Crump had a loaded handgun in his jacket pocket, plus a metal grinder, used for preparing marijuana to smoke, and a vial of PCP in other pockets.

The handgun was reported stolen from Newport News, VA. Crump gave officers his real name and they found he had an open warrant for armed robbery and possession of a handgun.

Crump was arrested and charged with 17 criminal counts. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention on $75,000 bond.
