Donation Box Of Cash For County's Homeless Animals Stolen
Police are investigating the theft of a donation box of cash set up for homeless animals housed at Anne Arundel County Animal Control.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Supporters of the Anne Arundel County Animal Control are angry that a donation box set up at H&B Fuller Wine and Spirits on Bestgate Road in Annapolis has been stolen. The box was full of donations to be used by the Anne Arundel County Animal Control to support homeless animals across the county.
Police believe an Annapolis man is responsible for the theft. The donation box has since been replaced and reinforced, officials say.
A group supporting Anne Arundel County Animal Control called Friends of Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, Inc. took to social media to express their contempt for the suspect's actions.

"Stealing donations meant to help homeless pets — just how low can you go?" they posted. "...they raise quite a bit of money to help us improve and save the lives of homeless animals at the shelter ... shame on you to that one bad apple."
Facebook user Cheri Wilson, along with many others, made extra donations to the shelter through its website to offset what the suspect swiped.
