Man Tries to Strangle Annapolis Woman: Police

The suspect violated a protective order, police say, by forcing his way into an apartment and trying to strangle the woman inside.

Police say an Annapolis man violated a protective order by trying to strangle a woman early Tuesday.

Annapolis Police say James Wilkins, 28, of Annapolis forced his way into an apartment on Marcs Court just before 3 a.m. and attacked the woman inside. The woman had a protective order barring Wilkins from contacting her.

The victim was able to free herself and Wilkins chased her out of the apartment. She ran into a neighbor’s apartment and called the police.
