Marie E. Mauser Dabbs, 82, of Annapolis

Marie E. Dabbs (nee Mauser), 82, a resident of Annapolis, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born September 9, 1933, in Baltimore to the late Daniel and Katherine (Nixon) Mauser. Marie was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Washington, DC.

As a resident of Heritage Harbor, she enjoyed her book club, bunco, and Red Hats. She was an avid bridge player, and loved gardening, camping, traveling, and golf - including a hole in one. Marie was passionate about helping others. An active volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul for 10 years, she was always available to help those in need. Marie’s career culminated as the Vice President of Finance at The Washington Theological Union.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Mauser.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald Dabbs Sr.; two sons, Donald (Dori) Dabbs Jr., of Salisbury, NC, Joseph (Monica) of Emmittsburg, MD; two daughters Catherine (Tom) Williams of Crofton, Mary (John) Hodgson, of Edgewater; two brothers, Fred and William Mauser; three sisters Margaret Boyer, Katherine Baron and Clare Gorman; eight grandchildren, Thomas Dabbs, Michael Quinn, Joseph Dabbs, John Dabbs, Thomas Williams, Marie Capito, Katelyn Podlesney, and Amelia Hodgson; one great-grandchild Peyton Breeden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at St. John Neumann, 620 N. Bestgate Road in Annapolis. Private family interment will be held at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Annapolis, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 120 N. Front St., Baltimore, MD 21202.
