Teen Finds Sewing Needle in Candy: Police
No injuries were reported in the Wicomico County Halloween tampering case, which the FBI is investigating.

A sewing needle reportedly found in a piece of Halloween candy has the FBI working with Maryland authorities to find the source of the tampering.
Sunday night, a Salisbury family reported to police that their 15-year-old son found a sewing needle lodged inside a piece of Twizzler candy. The boy alerted his parents, who then contacted Salisbury Police.
There were no signs of tampering visible to the exterior of the packaging, police said. The candy was not eaten and there were no injuries reported.

The lot number for this package of candy is 701-86472-004.
Investigators say the family was trick-or-treating Saturday in these areas: Russell Avenue, Druid Hill Avenue, Riverside Drive, West College, Camden Avenue, Evergreen Avenue and Monticello Avenue.

This appears to be a singular incident reported within Wicomico County, authorities said.
Salisbury Police reminded parents to check their children’s candy, specifically Twizzlers, for signs of tampering before eating the candy, and to contact law enforcement if foreign objects are found.
