MD Snow Alert: Winter Weather Advisory Issued Saturday Night

BALTIMORE, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for four Maryland counties and Washington, D.C. The advisory calls for 1 to 2 inches of et snow to fall late Saturday afternoon through the evening. The winter weather advisory was issued just before 5 p.m. and is in effect until midnight on Saturday, Feb. 17.

A Winter Weather Advisory for wet snow means periods of wet snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving, the Weather Service says. The latest road conditions are available by calling 5 1 1. Plan on slippery road conditions. Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.

The winter weather advisory applies to the District of Columbia, along with Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Howard counties.

Any snow that falls won't stick around long. High temperatures will reach the 50s by Monday and a spring-like 70 degrees on Wednesday.

Saturday Night: Snow and sleet before 10pm, then a chance of rain and snow between 10pm and 1am. Patchy fog between 10pm and 4am. Low around 34. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 47. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph.

Washington's Birthday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Monday Night: A slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 71.
