Men Ask for Change, Hit Victim With Gun Downtown: Annapolis Police

A man says two men who asked for a change for a $20 then hit him in the head with a gun, according to Annapolis Police.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A random encounter with two men asking for changed turned into an armed robbery that sent the victim to the hospital, say Annapolis Police.

The assault and hold-up happened about 7 p.m. on Dec. 15 near the intersection of Clay Street and Calvert Street.

The adult male victim told police that two men approached him and asked for change for a twenty-dollar bill. The victim gave them change and the suspects began to walk away.

But, the suspects turned around, walked back to the victim, and one of the men struck the victim with a gun, knocking him to the ground.

Both suspects went through the victim’s pockets and took jewelry and money.

The robbery victim was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities gave no description of the suspects.
