Men Charged in Theft of $1,300 Worth of Alcohol
Annapolis Police say the suspects from D.C. and District Heights were stopped in a car with more than 26 bottles of alcohol.

A group of men apparently trying to stock up for the New Year’s Eve celebration were arrested Tuesday night and charged with stealing more than $1,300 of alcohol from two Annapolis liquor stores.
Annapolis Police officers were called about 9:30 p.m. Dec. 30 to Bay Ridge Wine and Spirits, 111 Hillsmere Drive. Store employees described the suspects in the liquor theft and the vehicle in which they left the area.
Officers located the vehicle leaving Lighthouse Liquors, 2012 West St. As officers were stopping the vehicle, a theft was reported at Lighthouse Liquors involving the same suspects.

More than 26 bottles of alcohol were reportedly found in the vehicle, according to police. One bottle was allegedly stolen from Lighthouse Liquors, the rest from Bay Ridge Wine and Spirits.
Antonio Wright, 25, Hakeem Burrows, 24, Alexander Twitty, 24, and Rene Young, 25, all of the District of Columbia, and Rodney Martin, 24, of District Heights, were charged with two counts of theft and two counts of theft scheme.

Wright, Twitty, Young, and Martin are being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $10,000 bonds. Burrows posted a $10,000 bond and was released.
