Men Hit Bicyclist With Car Door, Assault Him And Steal His Items
A man riding his bicycle along Van Buren Street reported being struck by the car door of a moving vehicle, which caused him to fall.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — A man riding his bicycle in the 900 block of Van Buren Street in Annapolis was struck by the open door of a passing vehicle Sept. 1 at approximately 5:20 p.m. The man told Annapolis police officers that he noticed he was being followed by a gray or silver older model four-door sedan right before the incident occurred.
When the front passenger of the vehicle opened the car door and tried to hit him, the passenger missed, so the rear passenger opened a vehicle door and struck the victim, causing him to fall onto the sidewalk. Then three male suspects jumped out of the vehicle and began punching and kicking the man while he lay on the ground. The suspects took a pack of cigarettes from the victim who suffered abrasions but declined medical treatment.
