Mission BBQ Offers Pulled Pork with a Side of Patriotism
The growing restaurant chain supports local police and fire charities, the Wounded Warrior Project and sings the national anthem daily.

Mission BBQ opens its 11th location on Oct. 27 in Annapolis, marking the restaurant’s sixth location in the state of Maryland.
Other Maryland locations are in Canton, California, Perry Hall, Columbia, and Glen Burnie, with a Laurel site set to open in November.
Menu items include Texas-inspired beef brisket; jalapeño and cheese sausage; and a North Carolina pulled pork sandwich topped with cole slaw and accompanied by an array of homemade secret sauces.

According to a news release, the Annapolis location at 2101 Somerville Road is part of Mission BBQ’s aggressive expansion plans, with a goal of 40 restaurants throughout the East Coast by 2018. The venture currently has restaurants in four states: Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina.

The Annapolis location will host charity nights throughout the week leading up to the grand opening, with all proceeds going to local police and fire departments in the Annapolis community, as well as the Wounded Warrior Project.
- Wednesday, October 22: Annapolis Fire Department Charity Night, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. (invitation only)
- Thursday, October 23: Annapolis Police Department Charity Night, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. (invitation only)
- Friday, October 24: Sneak Peek benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. (open to the public)
- Monday, October 27: Grand Opening. Live rendition of the National Anthem at noon, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony. Doors open immediately afterward.

Mission BBQ first opened its doors on Sept. 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the terror attacks. Owners Bill Kraus and Steve Newton opened the restaurant with a mission to give back to local community and American heroes, who protect, serve and save.
