Motorcyclist Dies After Striking Guardrail Near Grasonville
A Stevensville motorcyclist died from injuries he suffered when he struck a guardrail Saturday night, Maryland State Police say.

GRASONVILLE, MD — A Stevensville man died from injuries he suffered when his motorcycle struck a guardrail on westbound Route 18 west of Kent Narrows Way North near Grasonville, according to Maryland State Police. The victim, Daniel Edward Hurley, 53, was flown by helicopter and pronounced dead Sunday afternoon.
Investigators say Hurley was driving a 2016 Indian Scout motorcycle about 10:25 p.m. Saturday on the center line of the roadway and struck the guardrail that divides the westbound and eastbound lanes while traveling over the Old Kent Narrows bridge. The impact threw Hurley from the motorcycle.
Hurley was taken to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. He died about 2:15 p.m. Sunday, state police say.
