Multi-Car Pileup Hospitalizes 2, Snarls Traffic In Annapolis: Report

A multi-car pileup hospitalized two people and snarled traffic Tuesday in Annapolis, officials said. Some lanes are still closed.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A multi-car pileup hospitalized two people and snarled traffic Tuesday in Annapolis, the city fire department said.

The crash happened at Forest Drive and Bywater Road, trapping at least one person. Firefighters announced the wreck at 8:18 a.m., noting that the inbound lanes on Forest Drive were closed.

Crews rescued the trapped patient and removed them from their car by 8:32 a.m. Officials did not have an update on the conditions of the victims who went to the hospital.

Two of the inbound lanes on Forest Drive reopened by 9:07 a.m. The Annapolis Fire Department said the outbound lanes of Bywater Road remained closed for a while longer.
