2 Killed, Gunman Dead In Shooting Outside Annapolis Hotel: Police
The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Anne Arundel County police said.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A gunman fatally shot two people outside an Annapolis hotel Friday before turning the gun on himself, authorities said.
Anne Arundel County police are investigating the shooting that happened shortly before 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in the 2000 block of Somerville Road.
According to police, a man shot a woman and another man outside the hotel before shooting himself. The woman and the shooter were pronounced dead at the scene, police spokesperson Lt. Jacklyn Davis said. The male victim drove himself to a nearby shopping center where he called for help.

According to police, the man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
"Today we’ve senselessly lost three individuals to gun violence in our county," Police Chief Amal Awad said at a news conference. "We’re better than this."

Police said the shooting was a targeted incident and there was no threat to the public. Davis said the relationship between the shooter and the victims was unclear.
The identities of the victims were withheld pending notification of family, according to police.
No other details were immediately available.
County emergency management officials closed Somerville Road from Solomons Island Road to West Street as police investigated the shooting.
