ANNAPOLIS, MD — As summer creeps closer, friends and family will make their way into town for parties, graduations or long weekend getaways. How do you keep them entertained and well fed during their time visiting the Annapolis area?

Patch previously asked readers what spots they take out-of-town visitors to, and from your responses we published this list. We thought before summer 2017 gets under way, we should check back with readers and see what you would add to the recommendations.

  • Chick and Ruth’s - This classic diner takes the number one spot by our readers on Facebook. Between the comfort food and friendly atmosphere, you and your guests will never leave hungry. Patch reader Louise recommends the crab cakes, calling them the best in Annapolis, while Rick Hall suggests the onion rings and a large milk shake. “I have relatives that come up from Florida and they always want to go there. It’s just a fun place,” he added.
  • U.S. Naval Academy - A worthwhile visit for those who are interested in a naval career or simply want to learn about the fascinating history and tour the beautiful grounds. Be sure your guests catch a glimpse of all the attractions, including the chapel, submarine memorial, the crypt of John Paul Jones.
  • The Point Crab House - Located just outside of Annapolis, you can expect great food with even better views. Situated right on the water, your guests will love dining on the deck during the warmer months.
  • Watermark: Miss Anne - A chance to learn about the local history on this 40-minute narrated Annapolis boat tour.
  • Severn Inn - Treat your guests to a serene lunch with panoramic views of Annapolis.
  • Vin 909 - Located in the Eastport neighborhood of Annapolis, the restaurant prides itself on its farm fresh and organic ingredients, cozy atmosphere and divers menu of wine and spirits.
  • Mike’s Crab House - Just outside of Annapolis, Mike’s is known for having the best crabs in town. The outside dining along the river will leave your guests impressed too.
  • Quiet Waters Park - When the weather is nice out, take your visitors to Quiet Waters Park for a wide range of outdoor activities: walk or bike the picturesque trails, play with the kids at the playground, take pictures at the scenic overlook, or pack a lunch for a family picnic on the green.
  • Chart House - Another waterfront dining option, Chart House is a perfect choice to bring the family for dinner with a view.
