Mute Swans are Not Native to the USA.

Destructive Swans are being eliminated from the Bay.

Mute Swans were imported to North America by European settlers. They are very aggressive in defense of their territories. Because of their habit of uprooting submerged vegetation, they are undesirable in the Chesapeake Bay.
