The Next Two Chances for Snow

With the Super Bowl over, the groundhog’s prediction of six more weeks of weather, and a cold rain falling, it’s tough finding a reason to get out of bed.

The forecast could be better for Maryland.

A few signs of hope to cling to:

• The first day of spring is only 46 days away.
• Major League pitchers and catchers begin workouts this month and the first spring training MLB game is a mere 27 days away.
• Nordstrom has ditched its sweaters and scarves – shoved aside to sale racks like shoulder pads and other fashion faux pas -- to make way for bright sleeveless dresses and sandals.

Area residents face two chances for snow in the next seven days, according to the National Weather Service.

Here’s the forecast for snow in the area:

• Wednesday Night: A slight chance of snow after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
• Thursday: A chance of snow before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
• Sunday: A chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy with a high near 36. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
