Nominee named for City of Annapolis Public Works Director
Confirmation hearing to take place Oct. 11
David A. Jarell, has been nominated to serve in the role as Annapolis' Public Works Director, according to a press release issued today by the City of Annapolis.
Jarrell has most recently worked in San Diego, serving as a senior executive for the Public Works Department there. Prior to that he spent 16 years in the Navy's Civil Engineer Corps.
Jarrell's confirmation hearing will take place on Monday, Oct. 11 in the Regular Meeting of the City Council. If Jarrell is confirmed, he would start the position Monday, Dec. 6.

"Annapolis must set aside millions of dollars in the years ahead to modernize our infrastructure, such as our brick-paved roads, sidewalks, sewer lines and water plant," Mayor Joshua Cohen said in the press release. "Mr. Jarrell has the pro-bowl experience and leadership ability we need and leadership ability we need to quarterback this effort in an effective, efficient and transparent way," Cohen added in the release.
