Officer Fires Gun At Annapolis Burglary Scene; Suspect Jumps Out Window
An Annapolis Police officer fired his weapon at the scene of a burglary, officials said Sunday. The burglar jumped out a third-floor window.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis Police officer shot his weapon while responding to a burglary report early Sunday morning. Investigators say they don't yet know why the officer fired. In a move to escape capture, the burglar jumped out a third-floor window and was injured in the fall.
At 4:16 a.m. police received a 911 call from a woman in the 100 block of Duke of Gloucester Street who reported that a man forced open a door to the home and was still inside the house. Officers who checked the house found the suspect on the third floor. He then fled from police and jumped through a third-floor window.
The suspect, a 22-year-old man from Annapolis, was apprehended after the fall. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is in stable condition, police say. The man will be charged with burglary after his release from the hospital, and authorities said his name will then be released.
