Outdoor Fitness Classes Begin At PMRC Monday, Skate Park Opens

Jogging, walking, biking and hiking in Annapolis parks and trails is okay. Outdoor basketball courts and athletics fields are open, too.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department disclosed Friday that while the "Pip" Moyer Recreation Center is not yet open to the public, the facility is being "thoroughly" disinfected including exercise equipment, the indoor track, meeting rooms, common areas and restrooms. Everyone entering the building must have their temperatures checked and additional hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the facility.

However, the outdoor fitness class schedule begins June 15. Memberships will be extended for the length of closure and rentals can be assigned new dates once the facility reopens.

Registration for modified summer camps begins June 15 and the camps kick off June 29. Original campus have been canceled and those registered for them will receive a full refund including deposit. The Truxtun Park Pool remains closed due to construction, but the city is still looking to hire lifeguards, front desk attendants and snack bar attendants.
