Panthers Start Field Hockey Season With a Win
Annapolis High JV team beats Annapolis Area Christian School, 2-0.
Ponytails swinging in unison, three girls moved quickly down the field. Four more waves of girls with quick feet and controlled sticks moved through the cones set up to represent defensive players. With shouts to "keep low," coaches Tiffany O'Donnell and Sue Ford encouraged their players at a recent practice.
The coaches worked over the summer to get the JV field hockey team ready for their new season that starts today. The girls practiced stick skills, field positions and new plays.
"We're working on all aspects of field hockey," said Gabi Lanzoni, the team's co-captain. "We're focused on being a well-rounded team and pushing ourselves to the best of our abilities. Teamwork is one of my favorite parts of the game and we're working hard as a team."
