Parklets To Be Installed At West Annapolis Businesses
The installation of parklets in front of West Annapolis businesses begins Aug. 5. They are designed to help curb traffic.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Four West Annapolis businesses are working with the city to offer the convenience of "parklets" out front. A parklet is a constructed platform that extends the sidewalk out toward the street. The parklets will be installed beginning Aug. 5.
The city stated that the parklets will help calm traffic along Annapolis Street and make the street more pedestrian friendly. They also will offer patrons additional seating at restaurants.
Each of the parklets will be 24 feet in length and will be installed with the business owners’ permission on Annapolis Street in front of Bean Rush Cafe and Rutabaga between Giddings Ave. and Melvin Ave., and between Taylor Avenue and Giddings Avenue in front of Evelyn’s and Flamant.
