A pedestrian died after she was hit by a car in Annapolis, police said. She was 54 years old.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A pedestrian died after she was hit by a car Sunday in Annapolis, county police said.
Officers are withholding the victim's name until they notify her family. Authorities only identified her as a 54-year-old from Annapolis.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. on Riva Road at Broad Creek Drive, police said.

Officers said the pedestrian crossed the southbound lanes of Riva Road against the traffic signal.
Authorities said the victim was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing and walking from west to east when a 2016 Ford Focus sedan hit her.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department took the pedestrian to the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Officers said the victim was pronounced dead soon after arriving at the Annapolis hospital.
The driver stayed on the scene and was not hurt, authorities said.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
