Pepper Spray Clears Annapolis High School Classroom

Ten Annapolis High School students were in a room when pepper spray was discharged Friday, authorities said.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Pepper spray was discharged Friday morning in an Annapolis High School classroom, according to school officials.

The school sent a message to parents letting them know about the mishap. The incident happened in during first period in a classroom with 10 students.

All students were evacuated from the classroom and taken to another area of the school. The effected classroom and nearby rooms were cleared, the school said on Twitter, and no students or adults will use those rooms Friday as a precaution.

The school resource officers decided that a call to outside authorities was not necessary. A school nurse has examined the students in the room when the pepper spray was discharged.
