These red bags over the parking meters on Inner West Street are a sign that free two-hour parking has arrived this holiday season.

As noted in a city press release, the free parking is offered at all two-hour metered spots on Main Street, Francis Street, West Street, Maryland Avenue, Prince George Street, City Dock and Market Space. It also includes the Donner lot, adjacent to the former Fawcett Boat Supplies store on Compromise Street.

The free parking runs through Jan. 1, according to city spokeswoman Rhonda Wardlaw.

In addition, the city announced it will be offering free rides on the Annapolis Circulator through Jan. 1. This is offered for people who park in the city’s four garages and take the Circulator to the downtown business district. There will be a cost of $2 per ride for those who park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, officials noted in the release.
