ANNAPOLIS, MD - Nearly 100 firefighters converged at the Annapolis Yacht Club Saturday afternoon to battle a fire that ripped through the historic structure.

A fire alarm monitoring company notified authorities at 2:16 p.m. Saturday that there was a fire at the yacht club at 2 Compromise Street, according to Annapolis Police, which reported several citizens called about smoke coming from the windows as well.

Approximately 90 firefighters responded, bringing the blaze under control by 5 p.m., according to city officials.

Officials said one firefighter suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Anne Arundel Medical Center.
