Pit Boys Opens Outpost at Quiet Waters Park

Location features dog-friendly deck dining.

Pit Boys, a local carry-out restaurant and caterer specializing in pit beef, turkey and ham, recently began operating the cafe at Quiet Waters Park.

Pit Boys employee Kerry Fisher said she wanted those using the dog park to know the cafe's outside seating is dog-friendly. As of July 1, Maryland restaurant owners can legally allow patrons with dogs at outside seating areas.

Michael Murdoch, superintendent Quiet Waters Park, said Pit Boys was selected to provide service at the cafe and all special events at the park, such as concerts and festivals.

"Our purchasing department solicited bids based on criteria submitted by our department and an agreement with Pit Boys was finalized this past May, 2011," Murdoch said in an email.

The cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Tuesday, when the park is closed.

The Chinquapin Round Road restaurant also will have a stall in the recently re-opened Market House in downtown Annapolis. Like the other temporary tenants in the Market House, Pit Boys will have a six-month lease.

Pit Boys management could not be reached for comment about the Quiet Waters location.
