Police Blotter: Hammer Time Edition

The southern district reports incidents in August.

Anne Arundel County Police in the southern district responded to the following incidents in August:

Robbery
Two suspects allegedly approached a man who was walking home in the 600 block of Admiral Drive in Annapolis on Aug. 20, hit him in the arm with a hammer and stole his cell phone and wallet. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police are still looking for the suspects, who fled the scene.

Stabbing
A 21-year-old Edgewater man was stabbed on Aug. 26 during a fight with three other men in a community park, located at Shore Drive and Westminster Road. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Police are still searching for the three suspects.

Burglary Arrest
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy of Deale Road in Tracys Landing for allegedly stealing a car from a house in the 4900 block of Hine Drive in Shady Side on Aug. 26 and crashing it into the front gate of the property. The unoccupied car was found on Old Muddy Creek Road. The teen was charged with criminal and traffic charges and placed by the Department of Juvenile Services at Cheltenham.

Attempted Commercial Armed Robbery
Police are searching for a man and woman who allegedly attempted to rob the High's store at 5700 Deal Churchton Rd. in Churchton on Aug. 20. According to police, a man entered the store with his hand inside his shirt, implying he had a weapon, and demanded money. When the clerk refused to give him any money, the man ran away toward Bay Front Road with a woman who was waiting in the parking lot.

Bank Robbery
A man made off with an undisclosed amount of money after allegedly walking into the Chevy Chase Bank in the 2000 block of West Street in Annapolis on Aug. 12 and handing a teller a note announcing a robbery. The teller gave the cash to the suspect, who put it in a backpack and walked out of the bank toward Somerville Road. Witnesses saw him run toward the parking garage at the Annapolis Towne Centre and enter a four-door Lincoln Town Car. Police are still searching for the suspect.

Commercial Armed Robbery
On Aug. 1, a man allegedly entered the Exxon station in the 100 block of Defense Highway in Annapolis, pointed a handgun at the clerk and ordered him to open the cash register. The man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
