The Possibility of Bidding Out City Waste Services:
Back in September, Patch reported that city officials were . According to a plan for “managed competition” presented to the council by City Manager Mike Mallinoff in September, city employees and private firms would bid against each other to provide waste disposal services to city residents.

According to city officials, Monday it will be up to the city council to approve whether or not to move forward with this concept and begin to issue a request for proposals.

Repealing the Sidewalk Fund: Up for public hearing tonight, as noted in the agenda, is an ordinance that aims to repeal the sidewalk fund and “repealing the City’s responsibility for repair and reconstruction of sidewalks located upon the City right of way or upon private property when the general public has traditionally used those sidewalks.”
