Postal Truck Driver Identified In Annapolis Crash

Police have released the name of a Postal Service truck driver who suffered life-threatening injuries in a Saturday crash.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Anne Arundel County Police have released the name of a U.S. Postal Service truck driver who suffered life-threatening injuries in a Saturday crash. Deja Monet Watson, 26, of the 8100 block of Steve Drive in Forestville, is hospitalized at Maryland Shock Trauma.

Authorities say that Watson crashed about 2:30 p.m. on Pleasant Plains Road at Milvale Road in Annapolis. His mail truck was southbound when for unknown reasons it veered off the road and struck a tree.

The preliminary cause of the crash appears to driver error. Neither speed nor alcohol is a contributing factor in the accident, police say.
