Pot-Laced Brownie Sickens Teacher; Teen Charged: Police

A Broadneck High School student says he panicked when a teacher asked for a piece of brownie, so he didn't tell her it had marijuana in it.

What may have been a prank has a Broadneck High School student facing charges after he gave a teacher a brownie laced with marijuana, according to police.

A teacher who wasn’t acting normally was brought to the school nurse Monday afternoon by a co-worker. The victim said she was unwell and told the school resource officer a student in her third-period class had given her a brownie, which she later suspected had marijuana in it.

An ambulance was called as a precaution for the teacher; she was treated and released from an area hospital.

The student who offered the brownie, a 17-year-old boy, told authorities he gave the teacher and his girlfriend the marijuana brownie, according to Anne Arundel County Police. The teen said he was scared and panicked when the teacher asked for a piece of the brownie, so he didn’t tell her it contained the drug.

The 16-year-old girlfriend of the suspect was also observed to be acting lethargic. Both the girl and her boyfriend were examined and found to be OK.
