One billion dollars: The third-largest Powerball lottery jackpot in the game's history has reached a staggering $1 billion for the player who purchased the winning ticket on July 19.

The one-time cash payout for tonight's Powerball drawing is $516.8 million, lottery officials said.

The winning Powerball numbers are drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time, with Powerball results usually posted within 5 minutes.

Ticket sales end at least one hour before the drawing in most states, but a state may halt sales earlier, such as Illinois, which stops sales three hours before the drawing. In Maryland and New Jersey, ticket sales end at 9:59 p.m.; in Virginia, they close at 10 p.m. Check with your state lottery for the cut-off time.

The winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday, July 19, are: 07, 10, 11, 13, 24 and the Powerball of 24.

The Powerball jackpot was last won in the April 19, 2023, drawing, when a ticket in Ohio matched all five white balls and the red Powerball to win a grand prize worth $252.6 million. Since then, there have been 33 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner.

The largest Powerball jackpot in history was $2.04 billion, which was claimed by a single winner in California in November 2022.
