President of the Lutheran Church of South Sudan to visit Annapolis Evangelical Lutheran Church

South Sudanese Church Leader to Preach in Annapolis Sunday, Oct. 25th

The Rev. Jordan M. Long, President of the Lutheran Church of South Sudan, will be preaching at the Annapolis Evangelical Lutheran Church on Reformation Sunday, Oct. 25th at 9am.  The congregation worships at the Annapolis Area Christian School, Middle School Campus, 716 Bestgate Rd in Annapolis, 21401.

Pastor Long will also be leading a discussion entitled “Proclaiming Gospel Hope to a Broken World” during the Education Hour (10:30 - 11:30).  He will discuss the challenges the church faces in Africa’s youngest country.  South Sudan gained independence in July of 2011, but has recently been troubled with political violence, descending into another civil war that has claimed tens of thousand of lives and forced millions to take refuge in neighboring countries.  Please join us.  Everyone in the Annapolis area is invited and encouraged to attend.

Born and raised in South Sudan, Pastor Long became a refuge and later immigrated to the United States.  He is known for his spiritual leadership and gifted preaching.  He has dedicated his life to serve South Sudan’s ”Church without Walls”, so named for it’s outdoor worship gatherings.
