ANNAPOLIS, MD — Residents will pause on Monday, Feb. 18, to honor the nation's first president and founding father George Washington on Presidents Day. The federal holiday means some public facilities will be closed, but not necessarily all of them. Here's a quick breakdown of what's open and what's closed in Anne Arundel County.

Anne Arundel County Schools: All Anne Arundel County Public Schools building and central officers are closed for the holiday on Monday.

Westfield Annapolis Mall: Open normal hours, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Arundel Mills Mall: Open normal hours, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

County Libraries: All libraries will be open Monday, Feb. 18, in observation of Presidents Day.

Country Trash, Recycling: Normal curbside collections of recycling, yard waste and trash will occur Monday, but all Waste Management facilities are closed. For more information on recycling and trash services, visit the Department's web page at www.aacounty.org/departments/public-works/waste-management, or call 410-222-6100 Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Banks: Most banks are closed for Presidents Day.

Post Office: There is no mail delivery on Feb. 18 and local post offices are closed.

City of Annapolis

Recycling, refuse and yard trim will not be affected and the Pip Moyer Recreation Center will operate on its regular schedule.
