ANNAPOLIS, MD — A former Frederick County commissioner already embroiled in a scandal for an extramarital affair has been charged with four counts of prostitution in Anne Arundel County, according to court documents.

Blaine Ryan Young, 45, of Union Bridge, is accused of meeting an undercover police officer Feb. 18 who posed as a prostitute at a Linthicum area hotel in Anne Arundel County.

Young said on social media that he has “demons to deal with and conquer.”

Anne Arundel County Police had placed an ad for prostitution services online. Investigators say Young responded to the ad, arrived at the hotel room, paid the undercover officer $60 to have sex and said he had 20 minutes.

Officers detained Young at that time, and he was later charged with four criminal counts, according to the police report.

The state’s attorney’s office is expected to issue a statement on the case soon.

Young lost the 2014 race for county executive, reports The Frederick News-Post, and then announced at a county council meeting that he had been involved romantically for 18 months with a Frederick County budget officer while he was separated from his wife.

The newspaper reports Young’s relationship with the county employee – Regina Williams, who has since resigned -- has continued.

On Wednesday Young's Facebook page had a statement apologizing to Williams and his family for his actions. The post was later removed, but the News-Post says it read:

“I make no excuses for my actions as there are NONE,” the Facebook post said. “I am very very sorry to Regina, my children my family and friends. I am seeking and getting the help that I need.”
