Purim Parties Around Annapolis
Members of the community are invited to the Jewish celebration that retells the story of the Jews' salvation from the evil Haman in ancient Persia.

Purim may not officially begin until sundown on March 7, but some Annapolis area congregations have planned parties for this weekend.
Chabad of Anne Arundel County is organizing a pre-purim celebration for the whole family at in front of at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The celebration is free and the entire Jewish community is invited, according to a release.

The party includes:
- Concert by violinist Boris Savchuk, an Israeli artist known for playing Klezmer, Yiddish, Chassidic and traditional Jewish music
- Face painting
- Hamentaschen decorating
- Make your own gragger
- Special performance by Aleph Bet Jewish Day School
- Sand art and more

is holding its annual Purim carnival from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Everyone is invited to attend and you are encouraged to wear your Purim costume and be eligible to win lots of prizes.
There also will be homemade hamentaschen, according to a release. Hot dogs, cotton candy, chips and juice also will be available for purchase.
