Richard Edward "Dickie" Wisner, 75, of Harwood

Richard Edward “Dickie” Wisner, 75, a lifelong resident of the Annapolis area, died Nov. 14, 2015 at his home in Harwood. Born on July 22, 1940, Dickie served as an Annapolis City firefighter for 24 years, from 1970 to 1994, driving ladder and pumper trucks and ambulances.

Dickie enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas to play the slot machines. He was a NASCAR fan and particularly enjoyed following the career of Dale Earnhardt Sr. Dickie’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his 5-year-old grandson, Dylan.

Dickie was preceded in death by his brothers, Scotty, Leslie and Timmy Wisner and his sister, Esther Neimiller.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Etta Wisner; one son, Richard Wisner Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; three daughters, Loretta Bryant of Harwood, Terri Nemetha of Graniteville, SC and Debbie Collins of Rogersville, TN; three grandsons, Ricky, Rob and Dylan; five granddaughters, Deanna, Kasey, Brandy, Ashley and Sheri; and several great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to celebrate Dickie’s life on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. until a memorial service begins at 11 a.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
