Road Closures, Detours, Delays Expected In Annapolis This Week
Local motorists should plan accordingly Tuesday and Wednesday for traffic issues due to the annual Blue Angels flight demonstration.

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Anne Arundel County Police Department would like to remind motorists that there will be several closures, detours and traffic snarls Tuesday and Wednesday due to the annual Blue Angels flight demonstration held in conjunction with Naval Academy Commencement week.
On Tuesday, May 21, and Wednesday, May 22, from approximately 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. motorists should prepare themselves for the closure of the Naval Academy Bridge and considerable traffic delays on MD-450 and MD-648 south of US-50. Access to Pendennis Mount, Greenbury Point and the Naval Support Activity will be limited, the department reported.
Southbound MD-450 traffic will be detoured northbound at the World War 2 memorial during the closure. Southbound MD-648 (B&A Blvd) traffic will be detoured at Greenbury Point Road and will not have access to MD-450.

There will be Anne Arundel County police officers present during the event providing traffic control along the route. Spectators and motorists should be aware that there will be significant delays, detours and pedestrians in the roadway.
All parking restrictions, including parking in the roadway and no parking signs along the shoulder of MD-450, will be towing enforced. Parking will be permitted in the grass center median as directed by police personnel, the department stated.
