Robbers Ambush Man in Truxtun Park with Piece of Wood: Police

Also, Annapolis Police say an apartment resident followed a burglary suspect; authorities say residents need to lock their doors.

In the last 96 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 415 calls for service and arrested 24 people.

Robbery – Unit block of Tolson St – 05/22 at 3:15pm: An 11-year-old boy was outside playing when a man approached him and threatened to beat him up if he didn’t give up his shoes. The boy removed his shoes and ran home. The shoes were found in a nearby wooded area.

Theft from Vehicle – Unit block of Woodward Ct – 05/22 at 10pm to 05/23 at 10am: Ray Ban sunglasses, a GPS unit, and an Apple iPhone car charger were stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.

Robbery – Juliana Circle near Newtowne Dr – 05/23 at 7:43pm: The adult male victim was assaulted by a group of subjects who took his money and cell phone.

Burglary – 100 block of Spa View Av – 05/24 from 3:20am to 3:50am: A jewelry box was stolen after the home was entered through an unlocked kitchen window.

Burglary – Unit block of Morris St – 05/25 from 1am to 7:30am: A black leather Tory Burch wallet with money inside was stolen after the home was entered through an unlocked window.

Burglary – 100 block of Lafayette Av – 05/24 at 10:40pm to 05/25 at 8am: Money was stolen after the home was entered through an unlocked door.

Robbery – Truxtun Park – 05/25 at 6:16pm: The adult male victim was walking through the area when three male suspects jumped out and struck him with a piece of wood. One of the suspects took the victim’s wallet out of his pant’s pocket and all three fled the area. The victim was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for injuries to his forehead and face.

Theft of Bicycle – 100 block of Conley Dr – 05/24 at 10pm to 05/25 at 12:30pm: A boy’s black Mongoose BMX style bicycle was stolen from the rear yard of the home. The bicycle has a black and red bicycle lock attached to it and a red and white sticker that says “DATA” on the frame.

Burglary – Unit block of Maryland Av – 05/25 at 7:25pm: A male suspect entered an unlocked apartment and took a backpack containing a laptop and bicycle tools and parts. One of the residents saw the suspect leaving the apartment and alerted another resident to follow the suspect. The resident chased the suspect, grabbing him and retrieving the backpack. The suspect was last seen running towards St. Johns St on College Ave.

Theft from Vehicle – 400 block of Jefferson St – 05/25 from 8pm to 9pm: A grey HP laptop computer in a soft grey case was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.

Lock Your Block
One of the easiest ways to become a victim is to leave your car and home unlocked. Please help Annapolis Police Department prevent thefts in your neighborhood by making sure your block is locked. Take the time to lock your vehicle and remove valuable items. When you leave your home double check the door and make sure all windows are closed and locked. Report suspicious activity to police by calling 410-268-4141 or, in an emergency, dial 911. If you are a victim of a crime, report it to police quickly and provide officers with descriptions and/or serial numbers of the items taken. Talk to your neighbors and encourage them to lock your block.
