Run 24 Hours To Battle The Opioid Epidemic In Annapolis

Participants can run, or walk, for up to 24 hours to collect donations for, and raise awareness of, the fight against opioids.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Charm City Run Annapolis has a challenge for you: run or walk the Annapolis Town Centre for 24 hours. The cause? Raising funds and awareness in combating the opioid crisis in Anne Arundel County.

Participants can run or walk as much or little as they want, up to 24 hours. They're holding the event, called the Run Your Towne 24 Hour Challenge, which is also National Running Day. The run will last from 6 p.m. on June 6 to 6 p.m. on June 7.

All donations will go to Danny's Fund, a part of the Community Foundation.

Their goal is simple: "Our challenge to you - use your legs to run (or walk) the Annapolis Towne Centre for 24 hours, 1 hour, or anything in-between to raise awareness and financial support for Danny’s Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County with a goal of helping change the course of addiction in Anne Arundel County," Charm City Run said in their event flyer.

Brooks Running and Charm City Run are matching donations, up to $2,000 and $5,000, respectively.
