Second Arrest Made in Eastport Shooting Spree
Police have arrested an Annapolis man for spraying cars, a house and an apartment with bullets last month.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis man sought on 22 charges for allegedly shooting a house, apartment and seven vehicles last month was arrested on Sunday, authorities said.
Nathaniel Gross, 31, of Annapolis was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and 21 other criminal counts tied to last month's shooting spree. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
Annapolis Police Department detectives arrested Jeffrey Somerville, 34, of Glen Burnie on Friday for his involvement in the case.

Somerville was charged with first-degree assault and 21 other criminal counts relating to the shots fired. He is awaiting his initial hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

Just after 4 a.m. on April 17, Annapolis Police officers were called to the area of President Street and Park Avenue when multiple callers reported shots were fired.
Police found sign that anyone was struck during the gunfire, but several vehicles and homes were struck by bullets.
An apartment in the 900 block of President Street was hit by gunfire, along with a home in the 1000 block of Park Avenue. Seven unoccupied vehicles parked in the 900 block of President Street were also struck by bullets.
The police department’s response after the shooting spree included enhanced deployment of officers, additional cameras in the area, and a community meeting.
Following the gunfire on April 17, officers increased deployment and investigations in Harbour House and Eastport Terrace communities.
Annapolis Police Chief Michael Pristoop praised the detectives for obtaining the arrest warrants.
“Despite difficulty in finding cooperative witnesses, our detectives’ hard work and dedication brought these arrests to fruition,” Pristoop said. “The residents of Eastport should feel a sense of confidence and security as we continue our work in their community."
When detectives were searching Gross’ residence, they made an incidental arrest for felony drug possession.
Derrick Stansbury, 25, of Annapolis had about 9.4 grams of crack cocaine in his possession, police said. Stansbury is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
