Senior center holds relaxing, upbeat island party
About 80 seniors attend the Annapolis Senior Activity Center's island party.

About 80 seniors imagined themselves in the tropics as they wore colorful clothing and accessories, including Hawaiian shirts, muumuus, leis, hats, sunglasses and flowers, to the Annapolis Senior Activity Center’s island party on June 21.
They fantasized about island breezes as they listened to the steel drum and Caribbean music of solo musician Orlando Phillips. They ate pulled pork sandwiches from the Red Hot & Blue restaurant and relaxed to songs like “Margaritaville” and “Red Red Wine.”
Other music pulled them to their feet to perform the hula and other dances, culminating in a Conga line which twined around the dance floor and onto the stage.
