More than 100 Annapolis Senior Activity Center members attended a crab feast at the center on Sept. 25.
They enjoyed 12 crabs, an ear of corn, and a bowl of coleslaw made by center staff member, Mary Crowner. They also enjoyed spending time with friends. “I enjoyed myself,” one senior said. “I saw people that I don’t normally see.”
They reminisced about crabbing and fishing and bemoaned the high cost of crab cakes. They talked about musical groups such as the Van Dykes, seniors John Bryan and Del Puschert who played with the group, and the songs it recorded -- "Stupidity" and "King of Fools." They talked about old friends and new and caught up on the latest news.

They proudly displayed their crabs which looked to be good sized and “finger licking” good. For some, it was the first time that they had eaten crabs this year. For others, it was the second time. In either case, they were some of the best crabs they’ve tasted this year.
The event will be part of the Department of Aging and Disabilities’ October show for Senior Centers in Action. The show airs at noon and 7 p.m. daily on AACTV (Comcast 98/Verizon 38). It will also be uploaded to YouTube so people can watch online.
