Serving Up Fun

Whiz! Whiz! Whiz! Balls zip through the air, plunk on the table, and bounce on the floor. Eyes jitter and heads swivel in futile attempts to follow the dizzying action.

Novice players show off their killer swings and their uncanny ability to skirt the table edges while more seasoned players keep their balls in continuous motion.

The weekly open table tennis play at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center is underway. Interested seniors can learn to play table tennis, sharpen their skills, or play to win Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 – 4 p.m.

Ivan Caplan, Clyde Morehead, Judy Bajoris, Young Lee, John Cochran and Jack Dryden are on hand to either help beginners or challenge the more serious competition.

Daring seniors are invited to watch or play. As the Ping-Pong balls fly, so does the time.

Those interested in joining the weekly play can sign up at the center's front desk. A new session begins in January at the center which is located at 119 South Villa Avenue, Annapolis.
